Research in life sciences and biotechnology at CEA addresses two major issues: health and energy. In these fields, CEA researchers:
CEA provides its researchers with world-class research infrastructures, most of which belong to either national or international networks. NeuroSpin is a unique facility for ultra-high field biomedical imaging. In translational research, MIRCen is a biomedical imaging and preclinical research platform. Together, they provide researchers with outstanding MRI and PET neuroimaging capacities. The Heliobiotec platform is designed for researchers to explore the potential of microalgae for biofuel production. In nanomedicine, the Clinatec© research facility gathers doctors, biologists, and micro-and nanotechnology experts. A number of facilities dedicated to structural biology, genomics, metabolomics and proteomics are also available to researchers.
