About CEA

The French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission (CEA) is a world-class research institution, created in October 1945 by General de Gaulle. With 16,000 scientists, engineers, and support staff in 10 research centres throughout France, CEA is a key player ​in research and innovation.​​​

Through its strong relationships with over 500 industrial partners, CEA supports industrial companies and the set-up of innovative start-up companies. Thanks to the expertise of its researchers and partners, CEA is the originator of many new technologies that improve our daily life.
